Cast Profile: August Wöginger – The Miracle of Functionary Evolution
Status in the project: Main Actor (Club Chairman, ÖAAB Federal Chairman, "Hard Prose" Expert)
The Biographical Singularity
August Wöginger is the prime example of a career in the "political sterile unit." His resume features a peculiarity that makes him so valuable for our mockumentary: The complete lack of contact with the free market economy.
The Stations of "Non-Work":
- HAK Graduation (1994): Immediately after the Matura and civil service (1995), he started at the Red Cross in the Schärding district secretariat.
- The 22-year "Employee" (1995–2017): Wöginger formally remained with the Red Cross for 22 years. Remarkably: from 2002, he was already sitting in the National Council. For 15 years, he was simultaneously a federal politician and an "employee" in an Upper Austrian secretariat – a prime example of a protected workplace in the political biotope.
- Works Council without a Company (2006–2017): He represented employees as works council chairman while already making the laws for them in Vienna. A classic dual role of power.
- The Gapless Functionary Chain: From municipal council (2003) to district chairman to club chairman (2017). He collects offices like others collect Panini stickers.
Forensic Analysis for the Mockumentary:
In August Wöginger's world, there are no customers, no notice periods, and no economic risk. He is a product of pure committee logic. His "work" consists of meetings, beer tent appearances, and writing press releases (known in the project as "Hard Prose").
